Congratulations to the ΔΙΟ class for joining the brotherhood!
Alex joined the Brotherhood in 2013 with the DNA class. He has a passion for service and the Brotherhood. He is also involved in Marching Knights.
Amanda joined the Brotherhood in the Fall of 2014, in the Tau Beta Delta class. Her Line Brothers would describe her as the “mother” of the group, having them focus in, being a support system, and helping them whenever possible. Not only does she serve the bands, but she plans on serving people through Social Work after graduation.
Nate Smith joined Eta Sigma two years ago and is finishing up his junior year at UCF. He has been aTrumpet Section Leader and Section Coordinator in the Marching Knights the last two seasons, has been involved with the UCF Concert Band, and serves on the Chapter’s Ways and Means and Publications committee.
Taylor is a senior and dedicated brother who is always willing to serve our bands. In addition to being a four-year member of the Marching Knights and serving as sousaphone section coordinator, he has served the chapter as corresponding secretary and is currently our Florida Day chair. One of his most prominent achievements is earning the “Best Beard Award” of the Marching Knights for not one, but two years.
Emily Kaman is a feisty junior who joined Eta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi a year ago last fall. She never fails to serve, whether it be helping with set up or taking center stage with UCF’s winter guard team Pegasus. Emily is involved in many committees in Eta Sigma and is very active in finding projects involving guard for our brothers to help at. You may also see her making a Miranda Sings reference or playing with her pet rat in a video on your Facebook feed.
On Sunday, brothers of Eta Sigma honored the memory of our chapter’s first female brother, Kristen Sherman. Kristen completed her process in the Spring of 1992 Tau Omega class with the help and guidance of her big brother, Bran Gurney. She was the one and only member of the Tau Omega class, and a part of the Snake-Psycho family.
We are very proud to share our first Alumni Spotlight, a name that is familiar to all brothers of Eta Sigma and anyone involved with Marching Knights in any way: Troy Driggers.
Troy was an incredible person whose time was cut shorter than anyone could have imagined. Without his efforts to help Jerry Gardner contact UCF students, the Marching Knights would likely not exist.
